A postpartum doula is a game-changer
Having a postpartum doula can truly be life-saving during those early weeks and months with a new baby. In today’s world, many of us lack the traditional “village” of mothers, grandmothers, and sisters to surround us with care during the postpartum period—often called the Babymoon. Traditionally, this is a sacred 40-day period where the new parent is nurtured, fed, and supported as they recover and bond with their little one.
A postpartum doula provides both emotional and physical support, ensuring you feel held and cared for during this transformative time. While birth doulas assist during labor and delivery, postnatal doulas step in to support you after your baby arrives.
Having been through this stage myself three times and now seeing it from the other side as my children have children - I cannot stress enough how vital it is to plan for your recovery—physically and emotionally. Whether this is your first baby or your fifth, whether you are navigating this journey solo or with a partner, you deserve thoughtful, intentional care.
As your dedicated support person, your well-being will be my priority. Ideally, we’ll connect before your birth to create a personalized Postpartum Plan, ensuring you have the care and resources you need to thrive in this new chapter.
I am here to support you in the ways you need most and you may find me:
Holding your baby close in the bathroom or next room while you take a well-deserved shower, knowing your little one is right there with me.
Rocking and cuddling your baby in another room so you can enjoy a peaceful, uninterrupted meal—perhaps with two hands for a change.
Cleaning the bathroom, tidying the home, or changing the bed linens so you have a calm, inviting space to rest and recover.
Sitting with you for hours, holding both you and your baby in a moment of stillness, offering comfort and reassurance.
Walking with you through the supermarket, helping with the groceries, or joining you for a refreshing stroll in the park to soak in some sunshine (if the weather cooperates!).
Feeding, rocking, and soothing your baby while you take some much-needed rest.
Engaging older siblings or toddlers so you can have precious, guilt-free bonding time with your newborn.
Sitting by your side as you feed your baby, offering reassurance and gentle encouragement that you’re doing an incredible job.
All families needs are unique, and my role is to meet you where you are, offering the care and compassion you deserve during this beautiful and challenging season of life.
