After the baby is born…then what?

The postpartum period is the time right after childbirth — some people refer to this time period as the fourth trimester. I think this is a great way to think of it since it is just as important as the first three trimesters!

The challenge with the postpartum period is that your body is going through a massive hormone change and may even be recovering from major surgery. All at the same time as trying to figure out how to raise this tiny human that has entered your lives. Oh and guess what…you need to do this on little to no sleep!

After you give birth, you won’t meet with your doctor for around six weeks. This is a long time filled with questions and concerns and yes some worry!

As your postpartum doula, I provide practical support —- whether it’s helping with infant care, assisting with feeding, making nutritious meals or offering emotional guidance through each new experience. I believe in creating a nurturing, nonjudgemental space where parents feel supported, rested and prepared to bond with their newborn. My approach is holistic, honoring each families unique needs and values to cultivate a positive, fulfilling start to parenthood.

If you want a grandmother/mother figure to help you navigate this time I am here to set you up for success. We can navigate this Lifecycle to Parenthood together. PS….I am also told that I am the BEST listener!
