A postpartum doula is a game-changer
Having a postpartum doula can truly be life-saving during those early weeks and months with a new baby. In today’s world, many of us lack the traditional “village” of mothers, grandmothers, and sisters to surround us with care during the postpartum period—often called the Babymoon. Traditionally, this is a sacred 40-day period where the new parent is nurtured, fed, and supported as they recover and bond with their little one.
What is a fertility doula?
A fertility doula is trained to support couples during preconception to help them prepare emotionally and physically for pregnancy. Emotional preparation may include ways to combat stress and the waiting that goes along with the process.
After the baby is born…then what?
The postpartum period is the time right after childbirth — some people refer to this time period as the fourth trimester. I think this is a great way to think of it since it is just as important as the first three trimesters!
